Recruitment Fraud

Recruitment fraud is a scam that preys on job seekers with fake job opportunities and they will often times ask for your personal information or money. This kind of activity is often done through emails and text messages, or through other online sites pretending to be the company. Several examples of recruitment fraud are asking you to purchase equipment through a specific vendor site, sending money to the company before your first day, offering a job seeker a position before an interview has taken place, etc.

 

How to identify recruitment fraud?

If you are contacted by someone about a job at SierTeK, please verify the opportunity on our career’s page (Careers | SIERTEK) before engaging with that contact. 

Official offer letters will always come through our HRIS system. SierTeK does not ask for any upfront financial commitments from a candidate. SierTeK assumes no liability for recruitment fraud. Be careful when someone contacts you and take steps to protect your personal information. If you are not sure if a job offer is really from SierTeK, please reach out to us on our website here: Contact Us | SIERTEK and someone will be able to verify your offer.

If you think you have been a victim of a fraudulent job scam, report criminal matters to the FBI (see additional information here: public service announcements). You can also learn more about recruitment fraud and where to report it, through the Federal Trade Commission.
